And the Number One absolutely, Positively, No Doubt About it Best Film of 2007 (No matter What the Oscar Voters tell you) Is...

Was there any doubt? For those of you who read my blog on a regular basis know I have loved this film since it was released. Very few films have the power to make me feel the way this film does, it's an inspiring love story that comes around once in a blue moon. It's a love story set to music but stripped down to give us the bare essentials, it's only 80 minutes long and at the end we feel no two people belong together more than this guy and this girl.

Here is my complete list...

1. Once
2. No Country for Old Men
3. I'm Not There
4. The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
5. Away From Her
6. The Bourne Ultimatum
7. Knocked Up, Juno, and Waitress
8. La Vie En Rose
9. The Simpsons Movie
10. 3:10 to Yuma

Thanks everybody, let me know what you think of my list, agree, disagree let me know.

It was fun to read your top ten with "Falling Slowly" playing in the background.

We had three films in common in our top tens: AWAY FROM HER (which I really, really liked), JUNO, and ONCE.

Your idea of grouping the "pregnancy" comedies was smart!

I think LA VIE EN ROSE was underrated. Roeper and Phillips were bad-mouthing it a bit on last week's show, but I too, found it MUCH better than the American biopics of late.

No RATATOUILLE? No documentaries?

You put together a pretty definitive list for movie year 2007. And I think its been a very good year for movies, the best year this decade in my opinion: particuarly in the range of genres. Your list points this out: comedies, dramas, two westerns, a musical, two biopics, an action film, and an animated film

Thanks for the comments oneliner. I would agree with you that this was probably the best year in movies in a long time, there were so many to see which is why I held off on showing my top ten for so long.

My one regret is not seeing the documentaries like "No End it Sight", "King of Kong" or "Sicko" that might've made my list. "Ratatoullie" just missed it. I put it as an honorable mention.

There were also many foreign films like "Persepolis" and "4 Months, 3 Weeks, and 2 Days" which I haven't gotten to see yet, basically this list will probably be added on as I see these films, but this is as it stands for now.
